Pedal Steel Guitar

It is a far more versitile instrument than people think that it is. Of course it's a staple of country music but it shines in any set up, whether it's Blue Jade which you can listen to at the bottom of this page, or it's Tiny Dancer by Elton John, Possibly Maybe by Bjork (the steel is played by BJ Cole in both of those songs) or a cover of Avril 14th by Aphex Twin aranged by Will Van Horn, I think it fits every scenario and I always love to hear it.

I've been playing pedal steel since 2022. There was a GFI student model in cash converters in Belfast that George told me about and I couldn't resist. I rang up my buddy Dan and he imediatly asked 'is this about the pedal steel?' and I says Aye and he say's 'Hell Yeah'

Since then I've played it as much as I can. I play steel in a wreck of bands now, do a lot of session recording and live performances with different artists and bands, I'm enjoying it thoroughly. I'm also a recipient of the Arts Council of NI's Instrument Fun so I'll have a shiny new GFI Ultra landing at my door any day now!
